Improved Fitness Industry
You'd think the health industry was bankrupt if you listened to all the talk about nutrition and fitness.
I admit that I have grown tired of reading blogs that discuss all the issues. It doesn't really matter if your goal is to lose weight or gain muscle, but you need to find a plan that works.
You can bring up any topic and hear complaints about how to improve the industry. These complaints range from:
Bad trainers
Bad gyms
Bad diets
Bad studies
Studies lacking
Information is lacking
Too much information
No discipline
CrossFit
The last one is a joke, so calm down. It is, in fact.
I could go on. Regardless of how many flaws are mentioned, it would still be possible to address a hundred other issues. Some people consider improving their health, fitness, or nutrition to be a lost cause. What's the point of spending your time trying to fix the system?
We have no choice but to choose the obvious answer. Because your health is the most valuable thing you have.
Many people will spend a lot of money to feel and look better. Your health is very important. Your appearance is important to you. Building a strong body to withstand all the stresses of life is one of your top priorities. This is the modern equivalent to "survival by the fittest."
It doesn't matter how rich or wealthy you are, life will find a way of crushing you if you don't accept that responsibility.
It makes sense to keep trying to fix this system. It's important to take a step back at this point and acknowledge what should be obvious: What if we are trying to fix the wrong problem instead?
What if you switched the focus away from external factors that you can control?
A simple strategy to reduce stress is to focus your energy on areas of your health you have direct control of.
I don't worry about the outcomes beyond my control. While I have a role in the world of fitness, I don't believe I can control the outcome.
If I had my way, we would all spend less time trying fix the fitness industry and more trying to fix ourselves individually.
This may sound absurd when you think about the reality of fitness as an image-based reality, but it is possible to change your mindset and achieve less stress and anxiety and greater success.
People who are overweight shouldn't feel ashamed of their weight. People who are thin don't have to feel sorry for themselves every time they look into the mirror. Muscular people can feel less discouraged when they see someone stronger or more powerful than them.
No matter what your physical condition, every person has inadequacies that make it more difficult to live a healthier life.
