If you listen to the endless chatter about nutrition and fitness, it's easy to assume that the industry is in financial trouble.


I confess that I get tired of reading blogs that address all the problems. It doesn’t matter if the goal is to lose weight, gain muscle or find a healthy diet that works.


Any topic can be brought up and complaints will flow about ways to improve the fitness industry.

Calm down, this last one is a joke. (Really? It is.)


I could go on. No matter how many "flaws", addressing one of these problems would not solve a hundred more. Many people see improving nutrition, health, and fitness as a losing cause. It's pointless to spend time trying and finding a solution if the system is broken beyond repair.


There is no other option. Your health is the most important thing in this world.


It's not unreasonable to spend so much money on improving your appearance and health. Your health is vital. Your appearance matters to you. Your top priority should be building a body that can handle the many stresses of daily life. This is the modern-day equivalent of "survival to the fittest."


If you neglect this responsibility, it doesn't really matter who you might be or how much you have. Life will find a way for you to crumble.


Therefore, it is logical to continue trying to fix the problem. However, it is worth taking a step back to admit what should be obvious. What if the problem we are trying fix is not the right one?


What if external factors were something you could control?


It's very easy to reduce stress by focusing your energy on the aspects of your health that you directly control.


I don’t worry about what happens, even if they are outside my control. Although I do play a part in the fitness industry, I am not egotistical enough believe that I have the ability to control the outcome.


If I could, I would spend less time trying fixing the fitness industry and more on trying to improve myself as an individual.


Although it may seem absurd to consider the image-based reality that fitness is, changing your mindset will lead you to less stress and anxiety as well as greater success and better results.


Extra weight shouldn't make fat people feel bad about themselves. A thin person doesn't need to feel miserable every time she looks in the mirror. Muscle people might feel more confident when they see someone larger or stronger.


It is clear that everyone has inadequacies, no matter how healthy they are.
